9 Ways to Feel Energized Right Away

For long-term energy and reduced fatigue, a healthy liver is the place to start. But everyone needs an extra boost now and then. If your energy is slumping, try these fast pick-me-ups!

It’s only 11 a.m., but you already feel as though you’ve run a marathon! Deadlines are looming, constant interruptions mean you can’t keep your train of thought and all you want is to curl up in a corner and nap.

Low-energy days happen to all of us at some point, whether the cause is stress, a lack of sleep the night before or something else. If you find yourself fighting fatigue day in and day out, it’s important to make sure you’re doing what you can to give your body the long-term energy support it needs through diet, optimally managing your daily activities and taking supplements that support liver function.

Liver Support and Chronic Fatigue

If you’ve been experiencing regular fatigue, you might need more than a quick fix. Healthy liver function is essential for energy production, so a supplement that helps detoxify the liver, such as milk thistle, and a supplement that supports energy production at the cellular level, like NT Factor, can provide the energy boost you’ve been looking for.

NT Factor is one such supplement, and can reduce your fatigue up to 40% in as little as six weeks — without stimulants.

Quick Energy Boosts for Those Sluggish Days

Although proper liver health is important for all of us, not everyone has a serious problem with fatigue. But we all have those days when we just feel like going back to bed!

The good news is that there are some easy ways to get up and going on those slow, sleepy days — and they don’t involve a bigger cup of coffee.

  1. Eat high-energy foods for breakfast and snacks. High-fiber foods for breakfast help sustain your energy levels all through the day, as do bananas or other fruits that are good sources of potassium. Peanut butter is another good choice, because it contains magnesium.
  2. Get up and move. A short burst of exercise, like a 10-minute stroll around the block or up and down the stairs in your building, can give you a boost of energy that lasts for as much as two hours while also improving your mood and mental focus.
  3. Yawn. Yawning helps cool down and wake up your brain.
  4. Do the doorway stretch. Stand in the doorway with your fingertips on the doorframe and push your chest forward to stretch your torso and back. This stretch can give you a quick burst of energy in your body and mind, as well as provide you with some needed relief from hunching over the computer.
  5. Drink water. Many times, what feels like fatigue is really just dehydration. So keep a well-filled water bottle on hand and drink throughout the day.
  6. Listen to music. Listening to music while you work can make you up to 10% more productive, and can help minimize distractions as well.
  7. Chew gum. Chewing a piece of gum for 15 minutes can actually raise your heart rate enough to help you feel more alert, especially if you choose a mint flavor. (But it’s still no substitute for exercise!)
  8. Turn up the light. More light means more alertness. Opt for a blue-toned light, which helps you be more alert but is calmer than reddish-toned lights, which make you feel edgier.
  9. DIY ear massage. This acupressure-related tip is worth a try: Pinch the outer edge of your ear between your thumb and forefinger, and rub up and down for 10 to 30 seconds. Do this on each ear.

There are many ways to get a quick fix on those slow days, so try a combination of these tips and see what works for you. If your slump is an ongoing problem and not just an occasional occurrence, it’s important to look into what you can do to improve your liver health and decrease fatigue at the same time.
